Frequently Asked Questions

What is the dormitory accommodation

Yes, There is a dormitory at the Georgia Institute of Technology, we can even share pictures with you. The dorm has accommodation for two students of the same sex in the room with two beds on each side.

How many meals a day will the student have ?

Students will have about three meals a day. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Will there be a student assistant in the dorm to supervise the kids?

Yes, there will be a student assistant in the dorm to supervise the students, There will be a Resident Assistant.

What is the security situation on campus?

There is a constant police presence on campus so there are police you can call and they will come within 5 minutes.

Will they be other students in the dorm?

No There will only be students for our program between July 15 and August 4th.

Can we get pictures of the dormitory and sleeping accommodations?

Yes, we have pictures to share.

Will the Kids travel with adults?

Yes, we will make sure that an adult is part of the group of students that travel
together.

When will Visa appointment be secured?

Visa appointments will be applied for in early February so we can start the process early.

What is the travel date?

The plan is as follows: Leave your home country by July 13, to arrive in Atlanta, and leave Atlanta by August 4. We will cover your trip and flight ticket.

Will the student bring their own money?

Yes, the students can bring their own money to the camp to spend on small items like snacks or souvenirs. We highly recommend that parents get students a prepaid VISA or MasterCard with some money on it to make it easy for students to use and to keep safe so they don’t lose cash.

Who will supervise the student in the dorm?

We will have a student RA( Resident Assistant).

What about the student wanting to bring his own food , medications?

Students can bring their own medications, as long as they know the prescriptions, and also some small snacks. We don’t want students to bring something that they will need to cook.

Do we know what the students need to bring?

We will create a list of items that the students can bring once we are a month away, we will share the exhaustive lists with the students.

Do you have a discount for siblings?

No, we don’t have any discount.

How will students keep in touch and connect?

We will have a whatsapp group for each student and parents to start being connected before the trip starts. The Group will be available for parents and / kids to join in May.

Will there be a certification at the end?

Yes All the students will receive a certification at the end of the program as long as they have participated in all the courses and work on the team project assigned.

If my English level is not good How will I manage the course ?

We will have a course in English for the non english native so we will make it so that it is easier for kids to understand the course. The experience at school is supposed to be immersive so students will have the opportunity to learn from each other.

Will I have the opportunity to speak to an adviser on campus?

Yes There is an adviser from the university in our team so you will have an opportunity to meet with him and get answers to your questions about applying to the university.

What will a typical week be like?

Students will start the day at 9:30 AM and will have about two courses of 45 min a day so by 11:30 AM, the student will be ready for lunch. After lunch, they can browse the library and work on their group activities together.

Where will the students reside in FLORIDA and how many days?

In Florida, Students will be in the city of Orlando, FL, they will be living in a house that we will rent for them for about 5-7 days, while participating in fun activities in the city of Orlando.

Will the student have their own free time to visit family and friends in the USA?

No Students will be very busy while in the camp so they will not have time to visit friends.

Will the student get time to do their own shopping alone?

No The student will not be given time alone to do their own shopping. Everything will be done with the group at the camp based on the schedule provided at the beginning on July 15th. We will constantly communicate with the kids and parents via the What up group sharing pictures.

Can a student request to be in room accommodation with a specific friend ahead of time?

This is going to be reviewed on the as needed basis for students that come from school in groups.

Will they be insurance provided?

We are letting each student get their own travel insurance. We will provide information for agents to help in that regard.
